Aaahhhhhhh....
I just returned from 3 nights at the wonderful Monte Carlo on the lively Las Vegas strip. Did I win, you ask? Well, if you're talking about cash, then no. But if you're referring to blissful child-free moments with adult conversations, quiet naps by the pool, entertainment not suitable for people under the age of 18, then yes... I hit the jackpot! After a recent diagnosis by my internist of stress-induced hypertension, this was WAY overdue.
Mike and I went with good friends Vanessa and Nitin, and two other couples that are friends of theirs. Fun was had by all! We actually saw two shows (yes they were able to pull me away from the blackjack tables, David) - cirque de soliel's Zumanity - definitely not for the faint of heart or prude - and Frank Caliendo, an impressionist who was pretty good as well.
I did a little shopping but left most of my donation at the bj tables to a burly woman named Tatiana who could show a 6 and draw a 21 consistently like you've never seen before. But I had a great time never-the-less.
And the best part? A three day weekend to top it off! There were some cute pics taken that I'll post when I get copies, and some you'll have to find after I'm long dead and gone that Mike took of me and some guy named Steve.
Have a great Memorial weekend and say prayers for those who can't spend it with their families because they are defending our liberties.
If life were a 2-lane highway, then it would be easy. Instead it’s an eight lane interstate with the unknown waiting for you on the other side of the next overpass. Balancing out the speed traps, 4 car pileups, and 90 mph Texas lane changes on the interstate of life is both exciting and challenging - I wouldn't change anything about it!

Back in the saddle
It's been a while, my friend. Busy days for me lately. Leaving on a jet plane again tomorrow -a two night jaunt to Kansas City. Should be a good break from the heat, and equally important a small reduction in stress level. Somehow the combination of zits and high blood pressure at 35 just doesn't seem fair. Not to fear, Wonder Woman here has a physical lined up for Friday to get herself checked out.
I hope the house holds up...and both children and husband are in tact upon my return. We have a good weekend ahead with a shindig to attend, and a trip to Vegas to prepare for. Yes, folks, you read that right. After ten years of LV abstinence, I will be returning at the end of this month. Let's hope my husband doesn't wonder what creature he has married after he finds me glued to a blackjack table for 12 hours straight, with a pack of cigarettes and who knows how many martinis put away.
Say some prayers...I'll need 'em!
